Sauv Blanc update from Gamble Family Vineyards

Jim Close of Gamble Family Vineyards checked in this morning to let me know that they are entirely through with their Sauvignon Blanc pick, and the juice in the tanks is combining with native yeasts to begin fermentation. It will take several weeks to finish off, but according to Close it has terrific, intense flavors, and his take is that 2009 will prove to be a perfect growing season for this popular varietal.

Incidentally, Jim brought in the first pick on the 19th of August at 21 brix, and finished on August 28th at 21.8.
